Lil Yu
Introducing Lil Yu, a versatile New York based artist with infectious rap, hyperpop, 2000s club music, and pop punk songs. Themes of angst, heavy drug use, and love and heartbreak are prevalent in Lil Yu’s songs, whether it be a rap or pop punk track.
The rebellious pop punk EP “Under Your Spell” by Lil Yu has been on repeat for me recently. Every track is riddled with beautiful reflections on heartbreak and misery contrasted over the upbeat executive production by Michael Warren. Lil Yu’s most recent tracks lean more into the club scene. Love how Lil Yu is constantly switching up his sound.
Back in 2018-2019 Lil Yu was part of Hinoni, an early revolutionary yet now disbanded collective of trap/hyperpop artists and producers. Excited for more Lil Yu tracks this year.
